Job Description
The Last Planner System (LPS) is a collaborative, commitment-based production planning technique used in large projects to improve workflow reliability and predictability.
A Last Planner facilitator guides project teams through the Last Planner System.
Using an online planning tool, the facilitator works with the team using appropriate prompts and questions to identify the work tasks that each team member must do to achieve the team’s objective (usually a defined element of the overall project work schedule). These are usually in-person ‘workshop’ type meetings but can also be held online.
The facilitator also runs daily ‘check-in’ meetings with the team as they work through the plan, these are called ‘huddles’ and only last 15 – 30 min per team.
The Last Planner Facilitator administers the work plans in the online planning tool in terms of creating tasks, assigning task information, monitoring commitments and reasons for missing committed dates, and generating reports using pre-configured workflows.
The role requires strong inter-personal communication skills with a broad range of project workers, good IT Literacy and ideally experience of working on engineering construction projects.
It is advertised as a Full Time Role but Flexible working arrangements can also be accommodated.
